Share links
Share links let you hand a file to someone outside XBuddy — a client, vendor, or auditor — without giving them an account.
-
Open a document → Share → Create Link.
-
Choose the link’s permissions: view only or view + comment.
-
Optionally set an expiry date — after which the link stops working automatically — and a maximum download count, after which the link is exhausted even if it hasn’t expired yet.
-
Optionally set a password the recipient must enter before the file opens.
-
Copy the generated link (a random, unguessable token — not the file’s internal ID) and send it however you like.
-
Every share link is listed under the file’s Share tab, where you can see how many times it’s been opened, and revoke it at any time — revocation is immediate, even for links that haven’t expired.
Revoking a link doesn’t affect the file itself or any other links you’ve created for it — each share link is independent, so you can issue a fresh one to the same recipient after revoking an old one.
