The Approvals app is the inbox. Rules live in Workflow Management: a policy decides whether, a workflow decides who.
Apps involved: Approvals · Workflow · plus every source app (PO, leave, invoice, …)
Something is submitted
A PO, invoice, leave request, or other subject hits a threshold or always-require-approval rule.
Route
Serial or parallel levels, with delegation when someone is away.
Decide in Approvals
Approvers work the inbox (or mobile). The source document moves to the next status; it is not duplicated.
Internal Self-Service request types have their own approval chain, which still lands in the same inbox.
