Importing and exporting bank statements

For a bank without a connected live feed, bring transactions in by hand from a statement file, and take lines back out for archiving or offline review at any time.

Download the template (optional)

On Accounting → Bank Feeds (/accounting/bank-feeds), click Download template for a ready-made CSV with the expected columns (date, description, debit, credit, balance, reference) if you’re preparing a file from scratch.

Import a statement file

Choose the bank account the statement belongs to, then upload a .csv, .txt, or Excel (.xlsx) file. XBuddy auto-detects the delimiter — comma, tab, or semicolon — and recognizes both English and Vietnamese column headers, accented or not (for example “Ngày giao dịch” and “ngay_giao_dich” both map to the date column), so most bank export formats work without reformatting first. A single combined amount column (positive for money in, negative for money out) is accepted as an alternative to separate debit/credit columns. Rows XBuddy can’t parse are reported as skipped rather than silently dropped, so you always know if something needs a second look.

Export statement lines

From the same page, export the imported lines as CSV or Excel — useful for archiving a period’s statement or sharing it outside XBuddy.

Move on to reconciliation

Head to Accounting → Bank Reconciliation to match the newly imported (or fed-in) transactions against ledger entries.
