Product bundles
A bundle (combo) is one product made of several components, such as a device plus an installation service. The quotation shows one line; the sales order splits it into component lines.
When to use
Use it when you sell a fixed package at one price but still need each component to carry its own tax, stock movement and delivery.
Before you start
| Item | Detail |

sales.product_bundles | Allows creating bundles and adding bundle lines. Default: on |
sales.bundle_partial_return | Returns must keep the bundle ratio across stock components. Default: on |

| Components | Each component must be an active product or a sellable stock item; a bundle cannot contain another bundle |
Steps
Create the bundle
Go to Sales → Packages & services (/sales/products), create a product of type bundle and add its components with a quantity each. Components that are optional are add-ons, not part of the combo price.
Choose the combo price
Pick how the price is set: a fixed price, the sum of the components, or a percentage discount on the sum. A customer price list still wins over the catalog price.
Quote it as one line
Add the bundle to a quotation (/sales/quotations). The quotation keeps a single bundle line and its preview shows the components, the allocated prices and the tax per line.
Confirm the sales order
Create the sales order (/sales/orders). The bundle line becomes a header with one line per component, priced by each component’s share of its standalone selling price. Stock components then reserve, deliver and cost as usual.
Return the whole combo
On a customer return (/sales/returns) use the return-whole-bundle option so the returned quantities keep the combo ratio.
Tips & common mistakes
- Edit quantities on the bundle header, not on a component line: component lines are regenerated from the header and a manual change is rejected.
- A component with tax rate 0 inherits the tax of the bundle line, because 0 cannot tell “not set” from “tax-free”. Check this on the preview.
- The quotation taxes the bundle at one rate while the sales order taxes each component, so the preview warns when the two totals differ.
- Turning
sales.product_bundlesoff blocks new bundles and new bundle lines; bundles already on draft orders can still be edited. - Not available yet: pre-assembled kits, nested bundles, configurable choice groups. Bundles cannot be sold in POS.
