Proof of delivery
Proof of delivery (POD) is the evidence that goods reached the customer. It is what settles a “we never received it” complaint.
When to use
Use it every time a delivery ends, successfully or not.
Before you start
- Permission:
logistics:writeto submit POD. - No feature toggles apply.
- Evidence files are stored in Documents, so the shipment must be reachable by you under your data scope.
Open the shipment
Open the shipment from Logistics → Shipments (/logistics/shipments).
Submit the evidence
For a successful delivery, the recipient’s signature is required. For a failed delivery, enter a reason and attach photos.
Check the result
The files are saved to Documents first and the status changes afterwards, so a status of delivered or failed always has its evidence.
What each outcome needs
| Outcome | Required |
|---|---|
| Delivered | Recipient signature. |
| Failed | Reason and photo(s). |
| Exception | Raise the exception on the shipment and resolve it later. |
Tips & common mistakes
- Do not mark a shipment delivered without a signature; the system will not accept it.
- Photos are optional extras on a successful delivery but mandatory for a failure.
- Evidence cannot be reused after a final status: a delivered shipment is locked.
