Vietnam compliance & GL posting
When to use
Use this when setting up payroll for the first time (account mapping) and each month or year when filing PIT and reconciling BHXH. It keeps the payroll numbers, the tax forms and the ledger consistent.
Before you start
- Permissions:
payroll:writefor Accounting Mapping;payroll:readto open the compliance pages;payroll:adminfor settings. - Toggle
people.gl_posting_enabled(default off, on for new companies): without it nothing is posted to the ledger. - Optional toggles:
people.salary_advance_gl_method(defaultvas_334),people.payroll_gl_dimension_level(default company),people.payroll_project_allocation(default off),people.payroll_budget_gate(default warn).
Map payroll to accounts
Go to Payroll → Accounting Mapping to route salary expense, tax payable, and BHXH payable to the correct GL accounts so the run posts cleanly to Accounting.
Handle monthly PIT and BHXH
Go to Payroll → PIT Forms for monthly PIT declarations and Payroll → BHXH Reconciliation to reconcile social-insurance contributions against the payroll base.
Finalize PIT annually
Go to Payroll → PIT Annual at year-end to run annual PIT finalization across all employees, reconciling withheld tax against the progressive year-end liability.
Compliance pages at a glance
| Page | Route | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Compliance Overview | /payroll/compliance | Status of obligations in one view |
| PIT Forms | /payroll/compliance/pit-forms | Monthly and periodic PIT declarations |
| PIT Annual | /payroll/compliance/pit-annual | Year-end settlement with a dual cross-check |
| BHXH Reconciliation | /payroll/compliance/bhxh-reconciliation | Social-insurance contributions vs payroll |
The dual check compares approved payroll lines against the filed forms and the annual settlement, and flags differences above a small tolerance. Details are in the next page.
Tips & common mistakes
- Map accounts before the first live run; fixing a posting later means reopening runs.
- If an approval or payment fails with a posting error, fix the mapping and retry; the run is rolled back, not left half-posted.
- Each employee’s tax residency and commitment (08/CK-TNCN) affects PIT; keep it current in the tax profile.
- The short-contract flat withholding option is off by default; turn it on only if your policy applies it.
